I’m running for DuPage Circuit Court Judge as an Independent because I believe that the judiciary must be independent and judicial elections should be nonpartisan. Politics do not belong in the courtroom. The judiciary must remain independent to be that critical check and balance of the other branches of government. Politics have become far too divisive. Nationally, we are seeing the sanctity and independence of the judiciary questioned. Judges should not be political.
If I ran with an established party, I would have needed simply 500 signatures from voters to get my name on the ballot. As an Independent, I needed 2,456 signatures in 90 days to get on the ballot. We obtained approximately 4000 petition signatures in order to give voters a choice on November 5, 2024. I was glad to have the opportunity to talk to these voters about the need for an independent judiciary. I am proudly the only candidate running for DuPage County Circuit Judge as an Independent.
